SuperNerd Star Wars Fans Once Upon a Time.

Star Wars has become one of the biggest movie franchises of all time from the 1970’s all the way to the present.  Since Disney will be pushing out more movies, that shouldn’t change for a long, long time.  From the beginning it’s had some of the most dedicated fans around, here’s a look at those fans through the years. May the force be with you!

"Star Wars" fan Danny Fitzgerald of Staten Island, in Darth Vader costume, poses in front of Loews Astor Plaza movie theater in Times Square in New York, May 25, 1983, where fans are lined up for the premiere of "The Return of the Jedi," the third in a series of the "Star Wars" saga. Darth Vader surveys the scene.  Beware the forces of the Dark Side.

I always practiced this on my brother when I was a kid.  (I actually used my hand).
Nerds, nerds everywhere!   You never know when you may need a light saber.
Even Darth Vader gets tired waiting two weeks in advance of the first showing!
I know we normally would be shooting at each other, but, “How are the kids?”
Star Wars Mania sets in.

Some women never want to get out of character. Boba Fett shaving her legs in a bathtub? I’m not sure of the inspiration for this picture, but I’m certainly inspired now.

70 MM and 6 track stereo sound.  I bet it sounded awesome at the time!

May 25, 1977: Fans line up during opening weekend to see "Star Wars" at the Coronet Theatre in San Francisco. The Geary Boulevard movie house seated close to 2,000 and became a Mecca for the "Star Wars" films, before it was demolished in 2007.

Is this R2D2’s girlfriend?  Awful cute for a droid.
A Princess Leia costumed lady meets normal Earth humans.

I remember 1983 going to see Return of the Jedi – and it was awesome!
The crowds of fans extend into the water.
Is Darth Nerd showing Boba Nerd an old iWatch?
A long time ago, in a lawn chair far, far away…
I have seen both movies, but only one I have watched more than ten times!
I will never forget Halloween back then when I dressed up as Luke and my brother dressed up as a Stormtrooper.  I bet C-3PO was intimidated by THREE Darth Vader’s.
Chewbacca is struggling to carry the two humans.  I expected him to be stronger than than, what with carrying Han Solo for all those years.

These Jawa were having fun.  I wonder if there is Java in those drinks?

This stunningly beautiful Star Wars fan is just gorgeous. May the Force Be With You!

Pew! Pew!  Admit it ladies, every one of you when you were a kid put those cinnamon buns on the side of your head at least once.  Didn’t you?

Daft Punk reference-love it-but what is the guy in the back supposed to be?  Maybe a tauntaun?

This is the worst R2D2 one I have been able to find.  Terrible, but funny!

These are exactly like the costumes we made 30 years ago!  Awesome job guys!

These three lady wookies went all out!  Gorgeous outfits and well done!

This beautiful young lady had made Rey as good, or better than the real Rey-Daisy Ridley! I wonder if she has the same sweet accent?

Always super-classy Courtney Black dressed as Darth Talon. Darth Talon is from the Extended Universe, which may no longer be part of the Star Wars canon but it certainly has inspired a lot of great cosplay.

A beautiful representation of Slave Leia from model Diana Tamarova recently. Wow! She does a great job and certainly looks better than Carrie Fisher nowadays.

These three ladies are gorgeous dressed up as Star Wars characters, and I even love the Space Balls referenced costume as well. Funny and sexy Star Wars ladies!

Homeboy Boba Fett and Gangster Stormtroopers representin’ at a recent get-together. Creative and funny guys!

It is a Trap! I always thought General Ackbar would be male, but regardless, I like this version much better!

These two are hilarious – I just wonder if they found the postbox and inspired their costumes, or the other way around. Love it!

Even the dogs are getting into the action. This cute puppy looks just like an Ewok. I need to get a costume build for me dog too!

And, finally – a funny meme about Star Wars that is so true. People that dress as Jedi to go see the new Star Wars Movie, are the same people who wear jerseys to go see their favorite sports teams!
