Hey You,
The older you get. Â . Â . Â The less and less your brain retains its elasticity if you don’t continue to learn. Â To stay sharp you to need continue to challenge your brain on a daily basis.
Each time our learn something new and practical your brain will either change the structure of its neurons or increase the number of synapse between your neurons allowing them to send and receive the information faster.
Are you still learning? Â Really learning? Â When is the last time you changed your mind? Â I mean really changed your mind on something. . Â . Â most of us once we hit a certain age just seek information that affirms what we think we know, and we stop seeking to learn new ideas and it is one of our greatest barriers for growth and health.
We become mentally lazy. . Â . Â and we seek only to receive what we want too. Â . Â . Â Today I was on the treadmill doing some research for this blog and I learned about the importance of “drinking water” and made a commitment to change my habits here. Â Then in an effort for some leisure and against my initial beliefs I watched a special on John Calipari.
When was the last time you really changed your mind? #YouMatters

Backdrop, I love college basketball. . . I am a Michigan State grad and think Tom Izzo is the best coach ever. . . I have also believed that John Calipari was what was wrong with what is happening to college sports and more that one time have referred to him in a sentence w/ the phrase “slime ball”.
Then I watched his 30 for 30 special on ESPN and saw his story and believe that I was wrong. . . and yes, I changed my mind. . . I heard how much his kids believe he cares about them. How he had a similar background to me and yes, even Tom Izzo growing up.
That he was unabashed in keeping his kid’s well-being first and when their families financial future out-weighed what they could do in college performance, he advised them to go make their fortunes in the NBA.
I used to think college was best for these kids, I used to think Calipari was not doing well by them, I used to think that the NCAA was a an organization was seminal organization driving education further.
I have realized many things are not what I originally believed and it seems the more I learn the less I know. I am excited to continue to change my mind.
