The Secret Fat That Makes You Bride Fit Thin

You read that correct, fat makes you thin!   There are many studies that validate this truth but for some reason we hold on to that little voice in our head that sings the song, “fat is bad for your heart, your health and your waistline.”

The “secret fat” that makes you thin is…(drumroll please)…MCT oil!   MCTs (found in Coconut Oil), which is short for medium-chain triglycerides, can help you release fat because it is quickly burned and metabolized.   I don’t want to lose you by getting too “sciency” so I’ll keep it brief.   MCTs gets absorbed directly from the gut into the liver and doesn’t get stored as fat but burned quickly and turned into energy.

Studies show MCTs help you burn about 460 extra calories a day for men and about 190 extra calories in women (the guys always win in this area)!   They also impact your hormones, including appetite-controlling hormones, helping you feel full.

With no changes in daily exercise or restriction of total calories from protein, fat or carbohydrates, participants who took in MCT oil lost weight.   All these benefits from a saturated fat!   This further it proves that it’s not all about restricting calories and deprivation!   Amen!

NOTE:   Having a Bride Fit Body does NOT require deprivation, punishment and misery.

I love using coconut oil, the best natural source of MCTs, to reap the benefits they provide which are:

  • Boost metabolism
  • Cuts hunger
  • Reduces fat storage
  • Super fuel for your brain and cells

In addition, MCTs are a potent antioxidant (reduces damage caused by oxidation).   Think of what happens to an apple or avocado left on the counter (turns brown).     That happens in our body.   Antioxidants reduce the negative effects of oxidation.   MCTs also have anti-microbial properties (kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms), and provide anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral benefits.

Even after all the amazing benefits I’ve shared with you about MCTs it may still be hard for you to use in your diet because saturated fat has been demonized for decades and it’s hard to shake what you’ve heard and been taught over the years.   Rather than demonize fat we need to restrict the true villain in weight gain and dangerous inflammation, which is sugar and the processed food that breaks down into sugar.

NOTE:   There is a huge difference between the qualities of saturated fat in coconut oil compared with the fat in a fast food cheeseburger.

I love to use MCT oil every morning to speed up my metabolism and keep my mind sharp and focused.   Here’s some ways to get 1-3 tablespoon in per day:

  1. Add to your coffee! Make your coffee “bulletproof” by blending 1 tablespoon of MCT oil (this comes as Coconut, MCT or Brain Octane oil) and 1 tablespoon of pastured butter (like Kerrygold) in your coffee.   It’s delicious!
  2. Add to your salad dressings
  3. Add to your protein shake or smoothies
  4. Supplement by taking a tablespoon. I recommend the above options, much tastier!

Dr. Hyman, functional medicine doctor and one of my mentors, wrote the book Eat Fat, Get Thin which goes deep into all the studies and information on MCTs and so much more.   This is a  “must have” book that you will continue to refer to.

I’d love to hear from you about your experience with MCT oils.   Have you used it yet?   This is a great experiment, add 1-3 tablespoons in your diet and let me know the results.   Leave your comments below.

I have not eaten it for weight loss but to cure toenail fungus and it works. I promise you I used it for about 6 weeks and saw the toenail fungus disappear. I ate about 2 tablespoons/day. I didn't use it topically as many have asked when I tell them to take coconut oil. And...it was not organic...no special formulation...in fact it was just the cheapest coconut oil I could buy-the grocery store brand near me. It really works!
