Drink This Cocktail For A Glowing Complexion On Your Wedding Day

Your face has your health written all over it!   The first and most important step to have radiant skin is to eat a diet plentiful in a wide variety of vegetables, healthy fats like avocado’s, coconut oil, raw nuts and seeds, high quality protein like pastured eggs and chicken, grass-fed meat and wild fish rich in omega 3, like salmon and sardines.   In short eat a diet made up of the highest quality REAL FOOD available and keep processed FAKE FOOD to a minimum.

Equally important is to drink water and stay hydrated.   This is a simple yet hard request!   Here’s a tip; set up the amount of water you need for the day in water bottles or a glass pitcher in the morning.   Flavor with fruit or pure essential oils.   Make it a rule to have a glass of water before coffee and drink half of your daily water by 2pm.   The minimum goal is ½ your body weight in ounces but aim for 20 ounces more to ensure you get the minimum.

Another essential part of a healthy glow is supplementing with high quality antioxidants, minerals, omega 3 and vitamin D.   Deficiency in micronutrients has a lot of unfavorable side effects; a dull complexion is one of them in addition to weak, brittle nails and hair loss.

As your BrideFit Coach, I want you to radiate and glow beauty & health on your BIG DAY!   If you haven’t been implementing a skin care routine yet, start now!   Radiant, healthy and glowing skin requires a daily regimen, just like achieving a fit & fabulous BrideFit body requires a routine of planning, preparing and eating healthy real food and moving your body daily.   Choosing skin care products that are paraben free is best, and most importantly consistency in the routine of cleansing, toning, exfoliating (not too much), and moisturizing.   Adding glycolic acid to the routine has been shown to reduce fine lines and act as a “fountain of youth.”

My last tip for radiant glowing skin may surprise you.   It’s Bone Broth.   That’s right!   Bone Broth has amazing health benefits in addition to the side effect of an amazingly beautiful glowing complexion!   What is “bone broth?”   How do I make it or get it?   What do I do with it?    These questions may be popping up in your head!

Bone Broth is made with the bones, skins and joints of pastured (preferably) chickens, or grass-fed (preferably) cows.     The magic is in the collagen, which is found in the structural protein in animal connective tissue and becomes gelatin when boiled.   Once you cook down the bones you are left with this nutrient dense liquid that has the power to heal digestive issues and nourish your body with minerals and amino acids that support joint, bone and blood health.   By the way, your digestive health is directly connected to your skin!   Bone Broth is much better than any “botox cocktail!”   Preparing this “liquid gold” is simple but if the thought of making your own is stressing you out, you can simply order some and have delivered to your doorstep, https://www.bonebroths.com/#_l_1q.

To make your own you need a crock-pot (slow cooker), bones from a grass-fed cow (I get mine from a local farm where I purchase my pastured meat or Whole Foods), apple cider vinegar, garlic, onions, celery, carrots, parsley, dill (optional).   Add the bones in the slow cooker, drizzle with apple cider vinegar chop and add the other ingredients and cover with water.   Set the timer on low anywhere from 15-24 hours, After cooking, strain the ingredients and you’re left with a silky, gelatin rich, skin loving, delicious broth!   I like to sneak this “skin cocktail” in my diet wherever I can like replacing water with it when cooking rice and vegetables, adding some Himalayan sea salt and drinking like a cup of tea or coffee and using as a base for stew or soup.   Drinking this healing broth is one of the best things you can do for your skin and overall health.   Cheers to that!
